Hello everyone! Hope you are well! 💚
It has been almost two months since I announced Larabelles on Twitter and life has been exciting ever since!
I wrote an article about why I decided to create the Larabelles community, you can read it on Zuzana K blog. I am also writing a blog post about gender inequality in the tech industry and why communities like Larabelles are needed. It should be out in the next few weeks so keep an eye on LarabellesPHP Twitter!
Larabelles have been tagged in quite a few job ads on Twitter. Since I cannot vet the companies, I cannot endorse them either, but it raised a question about whether Larabelles should have a job board.
In the spirit of building Larabelles in public, I decided to run a poll on Twitter to ask people what they think:
Even though the majority of people said yes, I decided not to build one right now. There are other job boards already (LaraJobs, WomenWhoCode, WomenInTechnology, TechLadies, and others), and they do their job well.
However, I will build a feature wall for Larabelles, a place to promote women Laravel developers, their projects and skills so that companies can approach them for jobs, conference talks, and for collaboration. ✨
Larabelles in the news
